CVMA® Region I welcomes you to the beautiful state of Georgia. We’re excited to host you for the 25th Annual National Convention and meeting of the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association®.

Georgia State Law

Concealed Carry & State Reciprocity

- Open Carry is legal only with a Georgia Weapons Carry License (WCL) or a concealed carry permit from a state Georgia honors.

- Concealed Carry is legal for Georgia residents with a WCL, any lawful weapons carrier, and non-residents with a license/permit issued by any other state- provided they meet Georgia’s reciprocity laws.

- It is unlawful to carry in schools, official government buildings, and courthouses.

Georgia State Motorcycle Laws

- Helmets ARE required for BOTH riders and passengers; these helmets MUST be (at a minimum) DOT certified. Violations punishable by a fine up to $1,000, up to 1 year in jail and/or community service.

- Must have a windshield large enough to offer eye protection, have a visor on the helmet, or use approved eyewear.

- Passengers must have a seat affixed to the motorcylce with dedicated footrests, or a sidecar.

- All motorcycles will have functioning headlights, taillights, turn signals, and a license plate illuminated from a minimum of 50 feet.

- Handlebars cannot be more than 25” above the operator’s seat.
